How the world's largest solar power plant works

More and more countries of the world are beginning to use alternative energy sources, including solar. Therefore, modest rooftop panels are being replaced by “solar farms” spread over vast areas. So, the fourth-largest solar power plant in the world, Benban Solar Park is located in Egypt, covers an area of 37 square kilometers, and generates a capacity of 1,650 MW. In third place is Shakti Sthala, located in the city of Pavagada in India. Its area is 50 square kilometers and has a capacity of about 2000 MW. The second is the Chinese Hainan Solar Park. It consists of 672 photovoltaic arrays and produces 2,200 MW. What is the largest solar power plant in the world and how is it arranged? Watch in our video!

  1. Nightmare for migrating birds , whose feathers will burn up in the reflective rays of all of these panels. Palm Springs already has this problem of burned up birds falling to the ground . What a shame , this happens all over the world .

  2. Yeah look at all that destroyed Beauty. You put freaking solar panels everywhere and destroy the purpose of the ground. God you guys are fg morons. People who will do anything for money or just poison and more of a threat than anybody else on the planet.

  3. WHY DONT THE INDIANS RAISE BUFFALOS INSTEAD OF COWS SO THAT PEOPLE DONT HAVE TO KILL COWS FOR MEAT. THE MILK OF BUFFALOS ARE MORE NU TRITIOUS THAN COW,S MILK. THERE WILL BE NO MORE CONFLICTS BETWEEN PEOPLE OF DIFFERENT RELIGIONS.

  4. sunshine is not needed to create electricity only light in fact the moon creates enough to get a trickle charge

  5. The problem with solar is how to store energy for usage at night. Maybe we can create giant industrial lead acid battery station capable to store enough energy for night time. Lithion battery is good for mobile device and car but old technology like lead acid battery is feasible with permanent builing and large area to store those bateries. Instead making battery in small size container maybe we can create swimming pool size container?

  6. as an Indian I am proud that my nation is the only nation that has kept the promise made in paris climate agrement. the present govt is pushing hard to increase sustainable and eco energy. 👍👍

  7. A large part of the world will switch to renewables (wind/solar) overnight when a viable and economic method of power storage becomes available.

  8. Why you showing south indian state video and claiming its Gujarat …. Gujarat village are more advance compared to south …

  9. West Virginia and every other state can use that technique to cover up all their strip mining zones and give everybody a job. ❤️

  10. congratulations to india – achieving something we in central europe struggle with – to put PV on enough rooftops to come even close to that capacity!

  11. India is again building a hugle scale solar + Wind Power plant of whopping 30GW capacity. With 1,80,000 acres of land nearly the size of Singapore. With 4.7 GW will be produced by solar.

  12. 57km² is a huge territory to be dedicated to electricity production of what a single coal gas or any other power plant can produce

  13. Current government under Modi has set very big targets and they are keep achieving it on time for most. Infrastructure push of Modi will keep him power for at least 15 more years. If that will not happen, India will never become big leader. we see lots of international leftist lobbies have started working against him creating propaganda but 2019 he won very big and I hope 2024 he will get same!!

  14. Funny that at the end when referring to 'developed' countries you showed highways. That's not "developed" that's just a car-centric approach to 'developed' – India will likely be a lot more mass-transport oriented, especially at a greater development stage

  15. Current Modi govt. is pushing renewable energy programs , it's the strong leadership of Modi, that India is working on such mega projects for cleaner energy and sustainable development of the nation…
